The four volumes in this little set—Wit, Wisdom, Faith, Eulogies—illustrate different aspects of the Pope's character and the reaction to his death. The "Faith" volume is composed of quotes from the encyclical Pacem in Terris. "John saw himself as a reconciler. In statement after statement he emphasized the church’s significance as a supra-political spiritual force in the world.
