First printing of this comprehensive critical edition of William Butler Yeats's poems, edited by Richard J. Finneran. Authorized by Anne and Michael Yeats, Finneran worked to correct the 'definitive' edition of 1949, presenting the final versions of the poems, as intended by Yeats, and adding more than 120 new poems not included in any of the earlier standard editions. The first part of the book collects the Lyrical, while the second part collects the Narrative and Dramatic, along with additional poems. With Finneran's Preface, dated "New Orleans, Louisiana/19 May 1982." Two Appendices (with Notes), Explanatory Notes, Textual Notes, Index to Titles and Index to First Lines all arranged at rear of the text.
