Julia Margaret Cameron was the first full-length study of a famous pioneer of British photography." Published by the Fountain Press, complete with the original dust jacket, illustrated by Bainbridge. The text consists of Part One. Her Life and Environment, and Part Two. Her Photographic Work. supplemented with an Appendix (on "all the published literary efforts of Mrs. Cameron") in three parts, a Bibliography, and Notes on the Sitters and Plates.

lllustrated with 54 pages of photographic plates gathered after the text, including three images of Lord Alfred Tennyson. The first and last photographs are portraits of Mrs. Cameron. With a short critical Introduction by Clive Bell: "Mrs. Cameron technical imperfections were certainly an asset; they were not, however, the secret of her success. She was a great photographer because she was an artist."
