"THE LORD DOTH FEED ME : WANT CAN NE'ER BE MINE"
Second impression of Richard Meux Benson's Colloquies and Prayers for Holy Communion—illustrated with a frontispiece: "The Mass of St. Giles." A bright, fresh copy.
Drawn from the writings of the Father Founder of the Society of Mission Priests of S. John the Evangelist (the "Cowley Fathers"), this posthumous volume consists of Part One. Colloquies, based on passages from the narrative of the institution of the Holy Eucharist, and Part Two. Prayers, based on passages from the sixth chapter of the Gospel according to St. John. The text is preceded by an Introductory Prayer, "Give us this day our daily bread" (take substantially from "The Divine Rule of Prayer"). Brief notes on the frontispiece and the introductory prayer are placed between the title page and the foreword. First published in 1934, this volume was compiled by G.T. Pulley, S.S.J.E. with a brief Foreword by W.B. O'Brien, S.S.J.E. (Superior General / Oxford, Candlemas, 1934). "I cannot but think that these prayers of Father Benson may teach us something of that 'quality of timelessness' which we call eternal life."
